Global Partnership for the digitalisation of Michelin's worldwide sites

Michelin man
The French multinational Michelin partners with Brighteye for the digitalisation of their worldwide manufacturing footprint. The first go-lives are planned for Q1 2022 and more sites will follow already before the end of the year.

The board of Michelin creates value and generates growth across all of Michelin's activities via an external growth strategy, particularly in the form of mergers & acquisitions. As a result of this they find themselves in a scattered digitalization landscape of outdated internal (custom) developments and a large number of obsolete MES systems of all kind. They is why Michelin sets the ambitious goal of replacing their current digital tooling with a modern and a single MOM software standard, to support all their business units with a global roll-out and in parallel with a cloud ERP migration for the next ten years.

After a long, high quality purchase process with several POC's to try and grasp all the benefits of the proposed softwares and the set-up of a virtual plant, Michelin choose to partner up with Brighteye for their ambitious digitalisation trajectory as Brighteye was capable of offering a total solution for Michelin's needs and demands thanks to Momentum's complete functionalities to optimize their current multi-site manufacturing operation. The project will start at Michelin's Retread business units in Spain and Germany and more Michelin businesses are lining up for a worldwide Momentum journey this years and in the decade to come.

Brigtheye is delighted to close this global partnership agreement with Michelin and to support them in standardising their processes and optimising their IT and OT technologies on global group level for optimal maintainability and total cost of ownership. The first go-lives are scheduled for Q1 2022 and will run on configurated Momentum standard software, just as Michelin was looking for.
