Keynotes, customer stories, three breakout rooms and a lot of conversations in between. For everyone who could not be there, we bundled the day into one white paper. For everyone who was, here are the moments worth keeping.
The white paper: The Next Foundation
What we shared and what we heard back, in one document. From the four forces every plant is already absorbing to the architecture behind Momentum's next foundation, customer journeys from Q8 Oils and Vitablend, the breakout takeaways and what Release 18.2 brings today.
Everything we covered that day
Four forces, one direction.
CEO Alexander Moentjens opened with four forces every plant in the room is already absorbing: scarce people, cost pressure, volatile supply chains and AI. Not predictions, but reality. 87% of manufacturers are not yet using AI in operations, while 78% expect supply chain disruption to persist for another one to two years. His conclusion: complexity never disappears. It needs to be orchestrated.
Architecture is the story.
Chief Architect Lode Blomme built his keynote around one image: the standard shipping container of 1956. Not a faster crane or a bigger ship rewired global trade, but one shared standard. Momentum applies the same idea inside the factory. A shared event bus replaces point-to-point integrations between MES, WMS, WCS, equipment and screens. On the floor, that means adding a new scale, line or screen without a separate IT project
"The contents date. The architecture endures." Lode Blomme, Chief Architect
Proof from the plant floor.
In Antwerp, Q8 Oils replaced a mix of Excel, paper and an ageing MES with one operational backbone. Phase one went live in April 2026, led by the blending manager as business owner rather than by IT. Vitablend chose Momentum after comparing 11 MES candidates. Quality shifted from something the operator records to something the process enforces.
Inside the three breakouts.
APS planning across areas, WCS where one event moved four systems in time and an honest test of AI versus MES.
AI at the source of waste.
Polysense cuts peeling waste at a Belgian fries producer, measuring every potato with no operator in the loop.
Release 18.2, live in October.
Smarter planning, site and area OEE for the floor and PostgreSQL support. What you can use now, not someday.
